Marilynn, my very wise mother, together with Tater raised a great group of siblings for me. She made family a priority in our lives, a tradition that she encouraged and fostered in her grandchildren & great grandchildren.

We will all continue to benefit from her unconditional love and acceptance of others for years in our future because she opened her heart to all.

And what happened then….?

Marilynn lived a life so grand,

A century of memories at her command,

With Tater, she stood tall in Waggoner,

Their farm a place of love and laughter.

Eight children they raised, whose names start with G,

And spread across the USA, like a big family tree,

Countless grandkids and great-grandkids galore,

And Marilynn was the best grandma ever, and more.

Together they built a home so warm,

And always welcomed folks into their form,

They made a stand in a small town in the Midwest,

Where they lived, laughed, and loved with zest.

Tater played a mean game of Solo,

Even with the Old Lady and Blue as a foe,

But she was the matriarch, the glue that kept them together,

Through thick and thin, fair or rough weather.

Marilynn was inspiring, her life so full of grace,

She showed us how to live, with love in every place,

So let's celebrate her life, with laughter and joy,

For she lived a full one, and made the most of her ploy.

So long Marilynn, we'll miss you so much,

But we'll keep your memory, in our hearts and such,

Thank you for being an amazing wife, mom, and grandma too,

We'll never forget you, and always love you through and through.

Our Grandma was one of a kind, and will be truly missed by so many. It's an interesting and not always so grand of a thing to watch someone you love, age…and she made it to ~100.5 yrs old! It's often something you'll never be prepared for, both amazing and heartbreaking. I've been thinking of some fond memories with gma, and my brain takes me to her hiding ding dongs in the the old laundry room / pantry and Cody & I going hunting for them! Her always letting us drive to town at a wee ol' age of ~12…Her yelling, "Damnit Tater!" Something I'll never forget she said to me…we went to the movies to see As Good As It Gets; there's a scene in the beginning when Helen Hunt brings her date home and they're making out on her couch. Helen Hunt decides wants to stop, but her date doesn't, and he gets a bit pushy/mad….after the scene ended, Grandma turned to me and said, "Caty, if a man EVER does that to you, you GRAB his balls & twist!!"

I grew up just down the road from the Seelbach farm. Mrs. Seelbach was always a good customer when I sold Girl Scout cookies! She was part of the Lend-A-Hand club with my mother, Linda Peper. I remember her as always being sweet and kind.

In 2012 I was blessed to receive an invitation to Marilynn's 90th birthday party. The overwhelming crowd of her family and friends present there spoke volumes to the impact she had on the world around her. She is an amazing person and lived a life that we all can admire. In the last 10 years that I have known her one of my favorite memories of her is playing the family card game with her and watching as she used her "old age" to her advantage, pretending to be confused about the right card to play but then laying down the high trump, winking to me across the table and just playing us all like fools. She will always be the Old Lady, highest trump of them all.

Grandma Seelbach who is my daughter’s grandma taught me when Angie was a baby it was okay to use dish cloths for diapers when you ran out. I was totally surprised. She taught me so many things about raising children. Wonderful lady and will never be forgotten.

To Marilynn's Family -- Sincerest sympathy on your great loss. The Seelbachs and Kessingers were long-time farm neighbors and I remember your Mom as always being so pleasant and having a lovely smile. I graduated from Girard (class of '65) with Ginger and both Jim & I were at Blackburn with Gene. Hold on to the many wonderful memories you have to keep her alive in your hearts.

Grief never leaves us nor do memories which my

family and I will remember about Aunt Marilynn.

She was a kind and loving person, hard working and provided all of herself to others.

We have many good memories of our visits which were numerous over the years. So glad she could visit with us in late 2021.

Sending sympathy, prayers, and hugs to the family. I remember Marilyn even played Bunco a couple of times with our group when Gale hosted. Share your memories and your love of your mother with each other to help ease the pain.

So saddened to hear about aunt Marilynn. I am so glad I got back down to visit and see her again during the party a few years back. I was down my freshman year of high school and really enjoyed the mornings having coffee in the kitchen and playing board games in the evenings! Prayers and love to you all!

Sorry to read about Marilyn. She was such a nice lady. Will always remember the get togethers you had at the farm & potlucks. Had Gracia sing there too for some. Tator was such a fun guy too. She will be remembered by so many people. Bless all her families!

We are very sorry for the loss of such a great woman who made this world a better place. I recall many many family gatherings full of wonderful people, with lots of card playing, and Marilynn in the kitchen making sure there was plenty of food for everyone. I am certain she’s in heaven and is smiling as she looks over the wonderful Seelbach family!
