Condolences
When I was running the Radio Shack at Sullivan Drugs, Harry was the first person to come in and talk to me about computers. I was happy and proud to consider him a friend for over forty years. My sincerest and deepest condolences to Betty and the rest of the family. Carlinville has lost one of its best people, ever.
What an amazing person Harry was! And such a wonderful husband & father. He was such a blessing to the Carlinville Community with all he did for not just the Hospital, Blackburn, The Carlinville Economic Development, and the Country Club....but for the people of Carlinville! Harry loved his country as we can tell by his service, but he loved Carlinville and the people in it. I loved running into he and Betty anywhere I could. They were so kind, funny, and most of all genuine! Harry IV was my brother's age & one day I said something about "Young Harry", and my dad said "Young Harry is about my age"! I told Harry that the next time I saw him and he laughed about no longer being young Harry... but to my dad he still was!
God Bless you Betty, Harry & Carl. We all loved him...but you had the best of him!!
Mr. Starr was a regular library patron when I worked at the IL State Historical Library, as he worked on his family history. He was always so nice and a pleasure to work with. My condolences to his family.
What an genuine guy. I always loved running into Harry at the store or the post office. Just last week he was coming out of the post office as I went in. I thought to myself how amazing he and his entire family have been to know. Such wonderful people, and A true blessing to our community. Harry will be missed by so many.
So sorry to hear of your loss. Harry was truly a great man. He will be deeply missed. Prayers for you in your time of grief.

Sorry to hear about the loss. He is a great person to whomever he came along his road. He will be sadly missed in the community.
Carl & Harry,
I was very sorry to hear of the passing of your father.
When I was growing up my mother was on the committee that Harry led to create the Carlinville Country Club. After the land for the club was purchased he was often seen on a tractor sculpting the green and fairways and ponds that are still there. Years later I was lucky to be invited to crew on his big boat on a trip down the Mississippi from St. Louis to New Orleans. Never was more fun had.
His was a life well led but more importantly Harry was a generous man who gave a lot to this town.
