Obituary of Richard A. Bloome

Richard Bloome, 71, of Carlinville, passed away Thursday morning, October 20, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. Richard was born on June 25, 1945 to William and Margaret (Rosentreter) Bloome in Carlinville. He graduated from Carlinville High School with the class of 1963 and then served in the Air National Guard. He married Diane L. Elledge on August 27, 1966 and they later divorced. After Richard's service in the military, he went to work for Schien's Body and Equipment in Carlinville and later owned and operated the Elevator Shop for over 40 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of Ss Mary and Joseph Catholic Church, Carlinville Moose Lodge and past member of the Knights of Columbus. Richard is survived by two sons, Michael Bloome of Carlinville and Mark (Angelina) Bloome of Litchfield, IL; daughter, Tracy (Patrick) Lewis of East Alton, IL; 5 grandchildren, Cecelia, Spencer and Logan Bloome and Della and Emmie Lewis; brother, Peter (Mary Lou) Bloome of Corvallis OR; sister, Carol (Ed) Love of Franklin, IL, as well as several nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Dan, George and David Bloome and a sister, Carolyn Bloome. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2016 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville with a prayer service conducted at 1:45 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 24, 2016 at 11:00 am at Ss Mary and Joseph Catholic Church in Carlinville with Rev. Michael Haag officiating. Burial will take place in New Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Moose Heart.
