Helen Armour Perrings
78, of Carlinville passed away Sunday, December 18, 2011, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Helen was born June 2, 1933, in Atwater, IL, the daughter of Fred J. and Dolly (Fawcett) Armour.
Helen graduated from Carlinville High School with the class of 1950. After graduation Helen worked for Drs. Chamness and Rutherford at Carlinville Area Hospital. She married Charles E. (Squire) Perrings on January 6, 1952 in Atwater, IL and he passsed away January 5, 2006. Helen was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and work with her husband as a secretary for Perrings and Pritchard Insurance and Real Estate in Carlinville. Helen was a member of the Federated Church in Carlinville for over 50 years. The Perrings shared a passion for the Macoupin County Fair and could be found tending to the property all year long as well as spending countless hours the week of the fair.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Ruth Armour.
Surviving are her son, John (Janelle) Perrings of Columbus NE, daughter, Ruth Ellen (Jay) Barr of Chesterfield, MO, granddaughter, Amy (Michael) Potsou, granddaughter, Megan (Matthew) Daus, grandson, Chris (Jenn) Perrings, granddaughter, Sarah Perrings, great grandchildren, Elena & Elias Potsou, Simon Daus and Natalie Perrings, brother, Kenneth (Virginia) Armour of Raymond and beloved nieces & nephews. A Memorial Service will be held for Helen, 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 7, 2012, at the Federated Church with Rev. Charlotte Poetschner. Visitation will follow after the Memorial Service in the Fellowship Hall until 3:00 pm.
Private burial will be held Carlinville City Cemetery. Donations Information
