I have so many great memories of Helen and Charlie from growing up on Charles Street. They were both true gifts to everyone who had the honor of knowing them. Ruth Ellen, John and your families have our sincere sympathy and prayers.
Wow! I can't remember a time when I didn't know Squire and Helen (aka Mickey and Minnie!) We worked like crazy out at the fair, mowing and pulling weeds, and then had lots of great times during fair week itself: concerts, demo derbies, mud wrestlers, you name it. Helen was someone I truly admired, and I feel blessed to have known her. God's blessings on your family.
So very sorry to hear about your mother/grandmother. She was such a special lady and one of my favorite people. I consider myself fortunate to have known her. Keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you Helen and Charlie for Billy "Crash" Craddock and all those great Macoupin County Fair memories! I will miss you both, especially when I pass that fairgrounds. Condolences to the family. Your parents were the best.
Your mom was a hoot! I will miss her and her delightful sense of humor--she gave me (and "Eunice")some of "Mama's" most sage advice through the years! You have Tim's and my most sincere condolences. Know that she was a Gem!

Ruth Ellen, I'm so sorry for your loss. As soon as I saw her picture, it brought back many memories of bringing my mom and dad's insurance payment into your family insurance co. Your mother was a gracious woman.
Our sincere condolences in your loss. She was full of good humor and always had a smile for everyone. Carlinville has lost yet another kind and gentle soul.
Ruth Ellen & John & Families, We will miss Helen. She had became such a part of our family gatherings. Her smile and thanks were always enough for me. She loved you all so much. Please know that you are always welcome to come back for Easter & Thanksgiving.
Ruth Ellen, John, Kenny and Virginia and families - I treasure the memories of working down the hall from Charley and Helen, but even more, the opportunity to form a more than forty year friendship! I've used the term "gold standard" to describe C.E., but it applies to Helen as well. She was a true and loyal friend, and will be very much missed by every life she brightened. I hope that knowing how much she loved you all will help during this difficult time. Mary Ann Maltby
