Clara Gross 101, of Carlinville passed away Monday morning, November 18, 2013, at Heritage Health Care Center in Carlinville. Clara was born March 17, 1912, in Carlinville, IL, a daughter of Herman and Minnie (Bloome) Lehmann. She married Wilbur Gross in Carlinville on January 1, 1941. She was preceded in death by her husband on January 6, 1973. Clara attended Carlinville schools and later went on to become a retail clerk at Sherm's and Sherman's Clothing Stores in Carlinville. Clara later worked at Wal-Mart until she retired in 2000 at the age of 88. Clara enjoyed crocheting and loved to cook. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son; Gerald Gross, sister; Alma Klaus, and brothers; Louis, Fremont, Albert, and Victor Lehmann. Surviving are her daughter, Joyce (William) Chilton of Springfield, IL, 3 grandchildren, Todd (Sally) Gross of Springfield, IL; Angela (Richard) Facciotti of Broomfield, CO; and Larry (Janine) Gross of Carlinville, IL, 4 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Private family services will be held at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville, IL. Burial will be in Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery. Donations Information St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Carlinville, IL.
