Obituary of Vicki Lynn Dechman

Vicki Lynn Dechman 68, of Carlinville passed away Friday afternoon, October 19, 2012, at Heritage Manor in Carlinville. Vicki was born February 7, 1944 in Cropsey, IL, a daughter of John and Violet (Nolte) Crook. She married Bernard Dechman on August 8, 1970 in Pennsylvania. Vicki graduated from Fairbury High School, class of 1962. She then graduated from Illinois State University where she received her Bachelors degree and later received her Masters Degree from Bank Street College in New York City. Vicki worked for the Carlinville Public School District starting in 1966 as a 3rd grade teacher. In 1969 she became the elementary art teacher for the next 37 years and retired in 2003. Vicki was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club and ADK Sorority where she held various offices and positions. She enjoyed art, history, reading, teaching and being around people. Vicki is survived by her husband Bernard of Carlinville; brother John Crook (Linda) of White Thorn, CA and a niece and nephew. Vicki is preceded in death by her parents, John and Violet Crook. Funeral Information Visitation will be held on Monday, October 22, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday October 23, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Ron Rhodus officiating. Funeral services will also be held on Saturday October 27, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 9:30 till the time of service at Collins Funeral Home in Wilks-Barre, PA.
