Mrs.Dechman was a beautiful person and an extraordinary teacher, full of passion for art and kindness for everyone she met. She will be greatly missed. Heaven is that much more beautiful now.
I was lucky to have Mrs. Dechman as an art teacher in grade school and will always remember her smile and enthusiasm. I was also lucky to reconnect with her during our house tour a few years ago. She will be missed by many.

Dear Dutch, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I so enjoyed working with Vicki in Alpha Delta Kappa. She was always cheerful, bubbly, creative, and always had a good story to tell! We laughed and cried together.

Dutch, It is so hard to find the words to say to you. You can't imagine how much Vickie helped me when I lost my mom. When I was having a bad day, there was always a note from Vickie in the mailbox. She was an angel on earth and now she is our angel in heaven. Please be strong and brave. She would want you to be. She will always be in my prayers and you will be too. We love you both.
Dear Dutch, We are so glad we had time together in September. You and Vicki have always been such a joyful part of our lives. Our kids all remember your summer visits from the time they were small until they had children that you two cuddled and admired. I have so many fun memories of Vicki and Dutch at our ADK conventions. You were both "members" of the Edwardsville chapter. She will be missed because of her humor and constant smile.
Dutch, There are not enough kind things I can say of you and Vick, from the moment you both entered my life until her very last day I loved you both dearly, Vick you was strong and had a laugh to light up an entire room. Dutch you was and are a man of honor and love and devotion day in and night you stood by Vick's side as we would see you daily I grew to love you both even more. Vicki was such a warm ray of sunshine in my life. I remember the first days she began teaching art and I still have all those pictures she saved for each year of elementary school. Vicki always had a hug and smile. I wanted to be like Vicki when I grow up..... I will keep her in my heart always... She was a great friend, neighbor and teacher. Dutch we send our love too. Coleen

I was Miss Crook's student in her third grade class, then Mrs. Dechman's art student. She was such a fun teacher and we all loved her in third grade, especially since many assignments seemed to include an art component:) She will be missed.

Mrs. Dechman was my art teacher throughout grade school and was one of my favorite teachers as a child. I know she will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Vicki will always be remembered as not only a truly dedicated teacher, but a person with one of the most upbeat personalites ever. Students fortunate to have her as an art teacher will carry her legacy forward for many years. Our condolences to Dutch and all of Vicki's family.
