Ron Wichern, 78, of Girard, IL, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2024, at his home in Girard, IL.

No Services will be held.

Ron was born June 5, 1946, in Hannibal, MO, a son of Richard W. and Alberta (Dishion) Wichern. Ron graduated from Quincy High School with the class of 1965. He married Becky Mott on July 13, 1968, in Quincy, IL. He was a Combat Engineer for the Army during the Vietnam War.

Ron owned a flooring business in Carlinville for over 40+ years. He was an excellent artist. He had many hobbies like fly fishing and camping. Ron loved to travel, one of his most memorable trips was to the Grand Tetons. He liked rootbeer floats. The thing he loved most was spending time with his grandchildren.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Mabel Wichern, sisters; Lois Wilkes and Dorothy Geschwandner, and grandson, Logan Jones.

Ron is survived by his wife, Becky Ann Wichern of Girard, IL, sons; William Wichern of Highland, IL, and Michael Wichern of Girard, IL, daughters; Anita Jones of Girard, IL, and Amanda (Kester) Willy of Sequim, WA, granddaughtes; Nachole Jones, Klarissa Jones, Kelsey Jones, Ruby Wichern, and Caelyn Willy, grandson, Ayden Jones, sisters; Frances (Bill) Mann of Lenter, MO, and Emily (Junie) Venvertloh, brother, Ross (Jan) Kelly of Mt. Sterling, IL, many nieces and nephews.
