Rosella Mae Adams, 90, of Virden, IL, formerly of Girard, IL, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at her home in Virden, IL.
Rosella was born May 23, 1934, in Farmersville, IL, a daughter of Fredrick and Lela (Boehler) Millburg.
Rosella graduated from Waggoner High School with the class of 1952.
She married Robert E. "Pappy" on February 12, 1953, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Farmersville, IL.
She was a cashier at Cherry's Grocery Store for 20 years before retiring. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed baking oatmeal cookies, with her specialty being adding white chocolate chips to them. Hallmark movies were a year-round staple in what she liked to watch. Rosella liked being outside and loved to walk wherever she could. She received the honor of Catholic Woman of the Year from the Springfield Catholic Diocese. Rosella was a woman of faith, and she loved her family dearly.
Rosella was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Ron Adams, great-grandson, Beckett Adams, one sister, Opal Noris, and three brothers: Dale, Howard, and Dan Millburg.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 am, Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Virden, IL.
Burial will follow in Girard Cemetery, Girard, IL.
A Time of Remembrance will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Hall, after the burial.
Rosella is survived by her son, Dennis Adams of Springfield, IL, son, Douglas (Leticia) Adams of Bentonville, AK, son, David (Joyce Lewis) Adams of Gilson, IL, son, Roger (Geri) Adams of Anacortes, WA, daughter, Diane (Ike) Dodd of Waterloo, IL, daughter-in-law, Becky Adams of Girard, IL, sisters-in-law; Marge Millburg of Waggoner, IL, Margaret Millburg of Springfield, IL, and Phyllis Adams of Littleton, CO, 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
