Kenneth "Kenny" Eugene McElfresh, 84, of Girard, IL, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Sunrise Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Virden, IL. Kenneth was born April 8, 1940, in Girard, IL, a son of Russell H. and Hazel Irene (Belk) McElfresh. Kenneth graduated from Girard High School with the class of 1958. He married Darline Young. Kenneth was a retired auto and heavy equipment mechanic. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Girard. He loved hot rods and owned several over the years, even winning trophies for some. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents. Celebration of Life will be conducted at 10:00 am, Saturday, December 7, 2024 at First Christian Church, Girard, IL. Burial will follow in Union Chapel Cemetery, Girard, IL. Kenneth is survived by his wife, Darline McElfresh of Girard, IL, daughter, Chris (Nick) Velten of Girard, IL, son, Rich (Amy) McElfresh of Girard, IL, daughter, Stacey (Jeff) Flowerree of St. Charles, MO, grandchildren, Connor McElfresh, twins, Jorey & Jalen Flowerree, Sloane Flowerree, Nicholas (Cadee) Velten, and Amanda Velten, great-grandchildren; Destiny, Zoie, Bayden, Nicholas, and Demee.
