Marilyn Rose (Hoelting) Kuntzman, 93, of Carlinville, passed away Friday, October 18, 2024, at Lakeside Health Care in Carlinville, IL.
Marilyn was born December 27, 1930, in Carlinville, IL, a daughter of John and Marie Rosentreter Hoelting. Marilyn graduated from Carlinville High School. She married Melvin Kuntzman on October 18, 1949, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Carlinville, IL.
Marilyn was the vice-president and head cashier at Carlinville National Bank for her entire career and took pride in serving her customers well. She was a talented seamstress and made many of her daughter's clothes when they were young. Marilyn also ran an alteration business for many years out of her home. Marilyn was baptized at St. Joseph's Catholic Church and was a devoted member her entire life. She became the very first Lion's Queen in 1947. She spent many summers at the Carlinville Country Club with her family and thoroughly enjoyed the community she lived in. Marilyn also loved shopping for and designing diamond jewelry.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Kuntzman, father, John Hoelting, mother, Marie Hoelting, son, John Kuntzman, brother, Joe Hoelting, sister, Marge Miner, brother, Jerald Hoelting, and brother, Dean Hoelting.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, 9:00 am - 11:00 am at Ss Mary & Joseph Catholic Church, Carlinville, IL.
Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Ss Mary & Joseph Catholic Church, Carlinville, IL, with Rev. Joe Koyickal, SAC, presiding.
Burial will follow in New Calvary Cemetery, Carlinville, IL.
Marilyn is survived by her son, Dan (Kathy) Kuntzman of Chapel Hill, NC, daughter, Dana (John) Yowell of Carlinville, IL, daughter, Patty (Mike) Moore of Florissant, CO, daughter, Sally Kuntzman of Carlinville, IL, 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, sister, Virginia Morehead of Carlinville, IL, sister, Jeannette Gagan of Santa Fe, NM, sister, Marsha Hester of Hattiesburg, MS, brother, Bill Hoelting of Rockford, IL, brother, Bob Hoelting of Bartlett, IL.
Memorials may be made to St. Vincent DePaul or Carlinville Public Library.
