Larry L. Pittard Obituary

Larry LaVerne Pittard, 84, of Girard, Il, passed away on Wednesday morning, September 11, 2024, at Lakeside Health Care in Carlinville, IL.


Larry was born November 21, 1939, in Galesburg, IL, a son of Laverne and Dorothy (Wetmore) Pittard. He married Nancy (Chambers), on September 19, 1970, in Rock Island, IL.


Larry served 3 tours in Vietnam with the Army.


Larry drove the school bus in Paxton, IL. He kept score for the Paxton High School baseball team. He was a big Cubs fan. Larry drove a cab at Fort Leonard Wood after his retirement.

He performed civil services at many different places. He liked woodworking, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.


Larry was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Nancy Lee Pittard, brothers; David, Ronnie, Dick and Paul Pittard.


There will be no services.


Larry is survived by his daughter, Tammy Duff of Los Angeles, CA, daughter, Kandra (Gary) Kennedy of Girard, IL, daughter, Brenda (Greg) Hawkins of Vancouver, WA, grandsons; Michael Johnson, grandson, Brandon DeGrout, grandson, Shane Duff, nephew, Lonnie (Lisa) Pittard, nine great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren.


Memorials may be made to Carlinville VFW.
