Dennis L. Wise, 70, of Girard, IL, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2024, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL.

Dennis was born June 14, 1954, in Carlinville, IL, a son of Robert and Lillian Morgan Wise.

Dennis graduated from Girard High School with the class of 1972. He married Karen Huson, on February 10, 1995 in Carlinville, IL.

Dennis spent his life working as a carpenter, building many homes in the Girard Area, working for Wise Builders. He retired in 2014. Dennis loved his savior and his loving church, Calvary, Springfield. He loved serving as an usher. He loved to fish and hunt. He spent his free time trying to keep up with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He will greatly missed by all who knew him.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Tony Wise, and three sisters; Sharon Miller, Linda Wise, and Brenda Pocklington.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, 10:00 -11:00 am at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, 226 N. Third St, Girard, IL.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Girard.

Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Palmyra, IL.

Dennis is survived by his spouse, Karen Wise of Girard, IL, daughter, Jessica Gibson, daughter, Laura (Jason) Collins of Eureka, IL, step-daughter, Sarah (Dan) Moses of Farmer city, IL, step-son, Daniel Horrighs of Virdern IL, step-son, Stephen (Jessica) Horrighs of Lake Bluff, IL, six grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, brother, Mike (Debbie) Wise of Jacksonville, IL, brother, Robert (Julie) Wise, Jr. of Jacksonville, IL, sister, Debbie England of Girard, IL, sister, Margaret (Rick) Filson of Girard, IL, sister, Angie of Virden, IL, brother, Steve (Cheryl) Wise of Girard, IL, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Calvary Church Springfield or the Girard Food Pantry.
