Mary Jean Stolte, 77, of Worden, Illinois, formerly of Carlinville, passed away Saturday morning February 10, 2024 at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO.

Mary was born on February 26, 1946 to Ross and Mary (Root) McGee in Edwardsville , IL. Mary married Ray King on March 7, 1964 at the Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Hamel, IL. They were married for 23 years before they divorced. On March 18, 1989, Mary married Kenneth Otto Stolte, Sr. in Carlinville. He preceded her in death on April 16, 2018. Later, Mary reunited with her first husband Ray, and they soon talked about marriage again.

Mary was a cook and a caregiver. She was a cook at the Carlinville West School for many years, and then was a dietary and cook at Lake Williamson Christian Center in Carlinville. Later, she was the manager of a senior group home located in Carlinville. Mary was a member of the Memorial Christian Church and a past member of the Carlinville Elks Lodge 1412 and the Moose Lodge 1216. She focused her life on raising her children and being involved with her family. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and hatching ducklings out of the incubator.

Mary is survived by her fiancée, Ray King of Worden, IL; four sons, Dennis (Heather) King of Mt. Olive, IL, James King of Charlotte, NC, Daniel (Tami) King of Litchfield, IL, and Richard (Nancy) Blevins of Staunton, IL; three step-daughters, Karen Rives of Carlinville, IL, Susie Stinnett of Carlinville, IL, and Vicki Stolte of Carlinville, IL; twin brothers, Gary (Kim) McGee of Caseyville, IL, and Larry McGee of Alhambra, IL; several nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Otto Stolte, Sr., parents, Ross and Mary McGee, step-son, Kenneth Otto Stolte, Jr., and sister-in-law, Lorna McGee.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville, IL.

Funeral services will follow visitation at noon on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at the Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville, IL, with , Rev. Gary Farthing officiating.

A funeral meal will be served immediately following the funeral at the Memorial Christian Church, 410 East First North, Carlinville, before proceeding to the cemetery in Irving.

Burial will take place in the Irving Cemetery, Irving IL.

Memorials are suggested to the American Kidney Association.
