Obituary of Deanne (Van Landeghem) Stone

Deanne Stone, 55 of Carlinville, IL, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Barns-Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, MO. Deanne was born December 27, 1968, in Portsmouth, VA, a daughter of Jon and Linda Sellers VanLandeghem. She married Troy Adam Stone on October 26th, 2017. Our beloved Dee, a truly remarkable woman whose vibrant sprit and infectious laughter touched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She left this world with a hole only love and laughter can attempt to fill. Dee was not just a parent; she was a confidante, a source of wisdom, and a true friend to her children, and everyone else's children who fondly called her "mom". The bond she shares with her family is truly unbreakable. In addition to being a dedicated mother, Dee was a cherished friend to many. Her charisma and open heartedness made her a magnet for companionship, and maintained strong, lasting connections throughout her life. Her ability to make others feel loved was a testament to the genuine kindness that defined her life-long career in customer service. Our 'Smiley' truly epitomized her handle, earned in her time as a truck driver. In her enforcement of the law, she also upheld a standard of enviable empathy and compassion. Dee brought a radiant energy to every room she entered. Her personal mission to bring a smile to everyone's day made her the epitome of light in the lives of family, friends, and even "strangers" (though she never knew one). Dee truly had a knack for spreading laughter. Those who were blessed to have experienced it understand the effect of her unapologetic smile. Let us not grieve the loss of Dee but celebrate and pay forward the positivity that she showed to everyone around her. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, 4:00-7:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville, IL. Deanne is survived by her husband, Troy Adam Stone of Carlinville, IL, father, Jon (Shirley) VanLandeghem of Imperal, MO, mother, Linda Wickenhauser of Cuba, MO, daughters; Sarah Winston of Carlinville, IL, Nicole "Nikki" Dixon, son, Daniel Dixon of Carlinville, IL, step-son, Erik Watson, step-daughter, Ashley (Brady) Lewis, grandsons; Tanner Winston, Colton Miller, granddaughter, Emma Stadge, step-grandson, Chandler Lewis, brother, Jon (Cassie) VanLandeghem of High Ridge, MO.
