Karsen Jay Huffines, 19, of Thayer, IL, formerly of Waverly, IL, passed away Friday morning, December 29, 2023 at his residence in Thayer, IL.

Karsen was born on June 8, 2004 to Jerry and Heather Huffines in Springfield, IL.

Karsen attended school in Waverly, graduating from Waverly High School with the class of 2022. He was a locate technician for U.S.I.C.,working out of their Springfield, Illinois office. Karsen enjoyed fishing, golfing, cars, and bicycling.

Karsen is survived by his father, Jerry R. (Lynn McGlasson) Huffines, Jr. of Thayer, IL; mother, Heather E. (Greg Johnson) of Waverly, IL; grandmother, Kelly M. (Cindy) Fernandez of Virden, IL; three sisters, Lillian Jayne Huffines of Thayer, IL, and twins Scarlett and Savannah Johnson of Springfield, IL; brother, Amarion Johnson of Springfield, IL; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Karsen was preceded in death by his infant son; grandfather, Jerry R. Huffines, Sr.; and grandmother, Karen Allen.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2024, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, 226 N. 3rd, Girard, IL.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 10:30 am at the Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Girard, IL, with Rev. Rick Irwin, officiating.

Burial will take place in the Girard Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to either the Animal Protection League or the Suicide Prevention Awareness Fund.
