Obituary of Kathy Damm

Katherine "Kathy" A. Damm, 83 of Chester, IL, formerly from Carlinville, IL, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023, at her residence in Chester, IL. Kathy was born June 18, 1939, in Alma, NB, the daughter of Maurice and Betty Jo (Davis) Woodard Meyer. She married David Damm on June 6, 1959, in Carrollton, IL. Kathy started out as a beautician with a shop on the Interurban Street. She later moved her business into her home where she worked for over 45 years doing hair. Kathy later changed careers and worked as a dietitian for Heritage Manor in Carlinville, IL where she worked for the next 18 years, retiring in 2018. She loved crafting, painting, camping, bowling, and traveling. Kathy was preceded in death by her son, Ricky Lynn Damm, daughter, Deborah Jean Eggemeyer, infant daughter, Catherine Christine Damm, sisters Wanda Moore, Barbara Gillenwater and grandson, Richard David Blake Bland. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, 10:00 to Noon at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville, IL. Funeral Services will be conducted Noon, Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery, located in Wrights, IL. Kathy is survived by her husband, David Leo Damm of Chester, IL, daughter, Brenda Lee (Theresa Gross) Damm of Chester, IL, daughter, Shanda (Wayne) Weller of Palmyra, IL, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, sister, Wilma Hudnell of Twin Falls, IN, brother, Royal "Tommy" (Nancy) Woodard of Walnut Hill, IL, sister, Latisha Larsen of Maroa, IL, sister, Linda (Rick) Bielski of Maroa, IL. and brother, Loyd "Eddie" (Madolyne) Meyer of Borden, IN, Memorials may be made to Chester Hospital in Chester, IL.
