Condolences
Ronnie and I were in Basic Training together at Fort Bragg in 1970. I just found and old book with his address and looked him up. Unfortunately found his obituary. He was everybody's best friend in boot camp. Always had everyone laughing. No matter how tuff they were making things for or on us he had something humorous to say to lighten the situation. I'll never forget when we were on bivouac and he offered to give me a shave. I've never been more terrified!!! He ran that razor up and down my face so fast I was sure I was going to be scared for life! Each guy carried one half of a tent. Called it a shelter half. Two guys would team up and have a tent to sleep in. After the first night one of the guys that slept with Ronnie complained that he didn't get any sleep because of Ronnie's constant snoring. I offered to share a tent with Ronnie the next night. I didn't get a minute of sleep either! Not only did he keep me awake but I had a claustrophobic panic attack and tore the tent down getting out. I was never claustrophobic in my life but after that night have suffered with claustrophobia. It's been over 50 years now and I'm scratching my head...know his given name was Ronnie but in my memory he went by Joe. He was a great guy to go through hell with and I'm sorry to hear he's passed on. Wish his family well. Very sorry for your loss.
Sorry for the loss of your father. He was such a wonderful person. Had a Smile, a good word, and would help you anytime. He was an awesome person all the way around. Our deepest condolences come to you all, you are in our thoughts and prayers always...... the first time I met your father he made me laugh, had me in stitches laughing, 1974, up at the square. Through out the years and time I have known him, he was always looking out for the people around him. God rest your soul Joe, rest in Peace, pain free. Always Alberta/sis/Buckoo...!!!!
My parents and his were good friends when Vicki and Ronnie were young children. They spoke fondly of the entire family quite often.
Heartfelt sympathy, caring thoughts, prayers. Ronnie Joe was a true inspiration. Special angel. Wishing the family and friends: a song in your hearts; sunshine after the clouds; a rainbow after the rain. Treasured memories. Peace.
