Obituary of Donna Jean Burnett

Donna Jean Burnett, 80, of Girard, passed away Friday afternoon, March 10, 2023 at her residence in Girard, IL, surrounded by her family. Donna was born on August 25, 1942 to Howard E. Sr. and Naomi (Jackson) Clark in Carlinville, IL. On August 3, 1973 she married Jerald L. Burnett in Carlinville, Illinois. Donna attended schools in both Carlinville and Girard school districts. Donna was fortunate to be a stay at home mother. She felt blessed to be able to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and family She enjoyed reading, playing bunco, bingo, and skip-bo. Donna and her family were blessed to have a full-time caregiver and sidekick, her daughter, Angie Dunn. Donna is survived by three daughters, Cheryl (Scott) Klaus of Danvers, IL, Angie Dunn of Girard, IL, and Audra (Tina) Burnett of Greenville, SC; two sons, Howard (Carri) Dunn of El Paso, IL, and Ernie (Melinda) Dunn of Girard, IL; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; two sisters-in-law, Sue Clark of Virden, IL, and Sarah Clark of Standard City, IL; three brother-in-laws, Chris Morgan of Girard, IL, Paul Ayala of Virden, IL, and Bill Allen of Carlinville, IL; several nieces and nephews. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Howard E. Sr. and Naomi Clark; husband, Jerald L. Burnett; 2 brothers, Terry Clark and Howard "Butch" Clark, Jr.; 8 sisters, Bonnie Gibson, Marilyn Garrison, Sharon Ayala, Cheri Boehler, Janice Allen, Karen Adcock, Judy Clark, and Kristina Clark. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2023, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Girard, IL. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at 11:00 am at the Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard, with Rev. Victor Angulo, officiating. Donna will be laid to rest next to her husband, Jerald, in Bethel Ridge Cemetery in Atwater, IL. Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church in Girard.
