Obituary of Deborah Kay Branson

Deborah Kay Branson, 64, of Springfield, formerly of Girard and Nilwood, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. Deborah was born on August 7, 1958 to George and Loretta (Matthews) Stevens in Carlinville, IL. Deb was a 1976 graduate of Girard High School. She owned and operated the Ragged Fence Primitives in Springfield. Deb also worked as a foster care trainer for DCFS. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Springfield. Deborah enjoyed fishing, camping, bowling, and sewing. She considered her work her hobby. Deb loved spending time with her children and grandsons. Deborah is survived by her husband Gerald, three daughters; Stacy Brown of Springfield, IL, Lori Brown of Chicago, IL, and Jamie Brown of Springfield, IL; two grandsons, Tyler Wright and Trey Brown; two brothers, Larry Stevens of Springfield, IL and Bob (Jenny) Stevens of Broken Arrow, OK; sister, Cathy Ambrose of Pekin, IL; several nieces and nephews. Deborah was preceded in death by parents, George and Loretta Stevens. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2023, from 12:00 noon - 2:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard, IL. Funeral services will follow on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Girard, IL, with Rev. Ken Lovely, officiating. Burial will take place in the Girard Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Donor's Choice. Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard is in charge of arrangements.
