Kimberly A. "Kim" Boente, 56, of Carlinville, passed away Wednesday afternoon November 30, 2022 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Kim was born on September 23, 1966 to Albert Rhodes and Linda (Ballinger) Lewis in Carlinville, IL. On September 26, 1987 she married Mark A. Boente at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Carlinville.

Kim was a 1984 graduate of Carlinville High School. After graduation she attended Hickey Business School in St. Louis, where she graduated in 1986. Her first employment was with Blackburn College, after which she became a secretary at the Farmers and Merchant Bank. A few years later she started as an administrative assistant for Hanson, Inc. in Springfield, IL, where she was employed for over 24 years and finished as a Land Acquisition Specialist. While working for Hanson, she was also an active real estate broker for the past 10 years.

Kim was a member of Ss. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church in Carlinville. She enjoyed working with people, spending time with her family, shopping, and following her children and later grandson in their sports activities. Kim and Mark loved traveling, especially with their traveling buddies, Kurt and Sherri Boehm. She was an avid Cubs fan and loved her two dogs, Kobe and Addy.

Kim is survived by her husband Mark, daughter, Chelsea (Keith) Kermicle of Dundas, IL; two sons, Dane (Melissa) Boente of Naperville, IL, Dr. Bryce (girlfriend, Dr. Emy Lutchka) Boente of Milwaukee, WI; two grandsons, Bode Kermicle and Elliot Boente; granddaughter, Maelyn Kermicle; mother, Linda (Joe) Lewis of Atwater, IL; brother, Craig Rhodes of Peoria, IL; sister, Lori (Nate) Kolsto of Carlinville, IL; step-mother, Marcia Ashbaugh of Girard; three sisters-in-law, Cathy (Duka) Dill of Croatia, Becky (Jim) Salske of Carlinville, IL, and Stephanie (Alan) Dillard of Carbondale, IL; three brothers-in-law, Dr. Steve (Denise) Boente of Carlinville, IL, Dave (Denise) Boente of Carlinville, IL, and Paul (Shannon) Boente of Carlinville, IL; Mark and Kim's exchange student/son, Artur (Beatriz) Felix of Brazil; several nieces and nephews.

Kim was preceded in death by her father, Albert Rhodes, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Stephen and Judy Boente, and sisters-in-law, Jane and Judy Boente.

Visitation will be held Sunday, December 4, 2022, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Ss. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church, 2010 E. 1st South, Carlinville, IL.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 5, 2022, at 10:00 am at Ss. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church, with Revs. Joe Koyickal, and Angel Sierra, officiating.

Burial will take place in New Calvary Cemetery in Carlinville.

Memorials are suggested to the Macoupin Center for the Developmentally Disabled (MCDD), American Cancer Society, or Ronald McDonald House.
