Richard Franklin Wilson, 88 of Carlinville, Illinois passed away Monday morning, September 19, 2022, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL.

Richard was born February 21, 1934, in Wood River, IL, a son of Yousuf and Martha (Neift) Wilson.

Richard worked as a self-employed carpenter in the Meadowbrook, Illinois area and retired several years ago. He loved to live on the edge by snow and water skiing, bowling, flying small aircraft, scuba diving, repelling and riding his motorcycle. He mined for gold several years and had some pretty good luck.

He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Bethalto, Illinois.

Richard was preceded in death by parents and a few brothers and sisters.

Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

There will be no services and his ashes will be scattered in Alaska.

Richard is survived by his daughter, Patricia Wilson of Collinsville, IL, daughter, Vicky (Frank) Egulf of Nashville, TN, daughter, Monica Cromwell of Swansea, IL, son, Robert Wilson of Nashville, TN, son, Edward (Linda) Wilson of Carlinville, IL, 8 grandchildren; Misty Boyd, Heather Cromwell, Nathan Cromwell, Allie Wilson, Chance Wilson, Dakota Wilson, Megan Masters and Devon Masters, 5 great grandchildren; Jack Boyd, Ellen Boyd, Keira Cromwell, Isabella Cromwell and Evelynn Cromwell, 8 brothers and sisters, several nieces and nephews.
