Obituary of Dale Lee Tosh

Dale Lee Tosh, 73 of Hettick, Illinois passed away Friday, December 31, 2021, at Heritage Health Care, in Carlinville, Illinois. Dale was born March 20, 1948, in Modesto, IL, a son of Clarence and Helen (Beechen) Tosh. Dale graduated from Northwestern High School with the class of 1966. After graduation, Dale married his high school sweetheart, Nancy N. Arnett on November 5, 1966 in Hettick, Illinois and she passed away July 28, 2018. Those close to Dale knew him as a man of great faith and generosity. Dale was passionate about allowing his faith to lead his decisions and his compassion and willingness to give was limitless. In 1985, Dale opened his business, The Cubby Hole. What started out as a two-person run business in a garage has transformed into the successful business The Cubby Hole is today due to Dale and Nancy’s inherent entrepreneurship and hard work. In his free time, Dale enjoyed traveling the country with his wife and cheering on the Chicago Cubs. In recent years Dale could be found mowing endless hours throughout the town of Hettick. Dale cherished time spent making his grandkids laugh and cruising on the golf cart with his dog, Hero. Dale gave his love to many, including friends, family, strangers, and anyone who may have needed it. However, nothing compared to Dale’s love for his wife, Nancy, who he spent a lifetime loving. Dale was a man of great character who will be missed by many. Dale was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon, January 9, 2022, 2:00 to 5:00 pm at Cross Church, Carlinville, IL. Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 am, Monday, January 10, 2022 at Cross Church with Rev. Scott Bayles officiating. Burial will follow in Hettick Cemetery, Hettick. Dale is survived by his daughter, Wendy (Brad) Vance of Virden, IL, daughter, Shannon (Paul) Boente of Carlinville, IL, son, Ryan (Myra) Tosh of Carlinville, IL, daughter, Ellie (Nate) Albracht of Hettick, IL, 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren.
