Wilma Jean Clevenger, 85, of Carlinville, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021 at Hallmark Health Care in Carlinville, IL. Wilma was born on October 28, 1936 to Louis Turner and Genevieve (Mansfield) in Scottville, IL. She graduated from Carlinville High School with the class of 1954. On January 7, 1954 she married Vincent H. Clevenger in Carlinville. Wilma started working as a mail carrier, transporting mail from Carlinville to Hardin. She then worked as a Nurses Aid for Carlinville Area Hospital and then as a cook for Carlinville High School. Wilma retired in 2001 from FandM Bank as a teller. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Carlinville and enjoyed spending time sewing, gardening and crocheting. Wilma is survived by her husband, Vince Clevenger of Carlinville; son, Jody (Michelle) Clevenger of Farmersville, IL; 1 grandchild and 3 great grandchildren. Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Turner and Genevieve Larla, as well as a brother, Lyndall Turner. Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, December 10, 2021, at 10:00 am at Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Carlinville, with Rev. Cliff Woodman officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Foundation. Online condolences can be given at www.davisandersonfuneralhome.com. Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville is in charge of arrangements.
