Condolences
My sincere sympathy to Lenna, Connie, Mickey & to all their families on the passing of Dorothy. I fully agree with Thomas Heinz that Dorothy had a lively & humorous spirit, & that she was totally welcoming to the classmates of her daughters. I fondly remember parties at Lenna's where Dorothy displayed a sense of warmth & fun that was less "parental" in her interactions with us, & these special qualities made her so very memorable. May her distinctive & beautiful soul rest in eternal peace.

I was so sorry to hear of Dorothy’s passing. What a big part she played in the lives of so many of us! The “open-door policy” she had at her home for so many of her children’s friends throughout our high school years —and beyond—meant we all had a second home to which we were always welcome. She was loving, caring, and so much fun! Condolences to Lenna, Connie, Mickey and to all the members your families. And God bless you all. I know how you will miss this great lady.

My prayers for you sweet daughters and all of the family!! Your mom was such fun.

Deepest sympathy to all of Dorothy's family. She was a gem, for sure. I shared many laughs, stories, and meals with Dorothy. I remember when I quit working at The Carinville Library due to getting a teaching position, and Dorothy called and wanted to take me out for breakfast. I told her that I couldn't make it for breakfast, but suggested we go to lunch. She said, "MICHELLE, I really want waffles." So, waffles it was! I loved her sense of humor and her ease with everyone. She and I became fast friends from the start. Rest in peace, my sweet friend. You are missed, but one day you and I will pick up right where we left off.
Dorothy was a part of our family forever. So sorry to hear about her passing away and know my thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

Mickey, I will always remember coming over to your house (next to Weise Anderson Funeral Home). Your mother was always fun to be around. My prayers are with you and your sisters. Phil Dawson
Connie and family, I am very sorry to hear of your Mother’s passing. For many years after I left C’ville, she would remember and greet me if we happened to run into each other while I was in town. Please accept my condolences. Bill Heinz
I loved my visits with Dorothy at Heritage. I would stop in her room most nights before I left. She was so funny and we loved picking on each other. But she was also so loving. I will miss her. But I will cherish all the memories of getting to know her and love her. And our long talks. Prayers to her family. Till we meet again Dorothy!
Mickey, Connie and families, our sympathies for your loss of Dorothy. She was so sweet and could be feisty at times and that's what I loved about her. She had such a sense of humor. It's always hard losing a parent, so I wish you strength as you all navigate the days, weeks and months ahead.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my friend Dorothy Woods. Such a wit. So joyful (and sometimes healing) spending time with her. I could tell some stories, but I guess this is not the place. Sending love, prayers, and blessings to you, Dorothy -- and to all your dear ones.
Love,
Mary Alice
Connie, Mickey and families our deepest sympathy in the loss of your Mom! I loved talking to your Mom when I used to visit Heritage! She always asked about our son Steven who knew her well from his library days and he always asked me about her (he enjoyed a couple of visits with her when he came to see my Mom)! She will be deeply missed………you are in our thoughts and prayers!
