Viola Mae Krank, 81, of Carlinville, passed away Friday morning, January 1, 2021 at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center in Urbana, IL.
Viola was born on April 19, 1939 to Clarence and Mildred (Borough) Hitchcock, Sr. in Gillespie, IL. She attended Gillespie schools.
Viola was a cook and a server at several area restaurants. She loved playing cards and bingo. Viola enjoyed spending time with her family.
Viola is survived by her three sons, Norman (Yulanda) Lane of Carlinville, IL, Rodney (Deneen) Tompkins of Roxanna, IL, and Joseph Nance of Alton, IL; three daughters, Eva (Anthony) Nance of Quincy, IL, Anita Nance of Carlinville, IL, and Rosanne Nance of Gilmore, TX; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Belle Stoner of Gibson City, IL; several nieces and nephews.
Viola was preceded in death by her parents, son, Sammy Nance, 1 sister and 4 brothers.
There will be no public visitation.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at 12:00 noon at the Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Carlinville, IL, with Rev. Tim Rhodus, officiating.
Memorials are suggested to the Carlinville Food Pantry.
Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville is in charge of arrangements.
