Obituary of Johnette Jaye Gilmore

Johnette Jaye Gilmore, 65, of Girard, formerly of Auburn, passed Saturday afternoon, August 15, 2020 at her residence in Girard, IL. Johnette was born on January 20, 1955 to Richard Sr. and Doris (Harford) Bender in Springfield, IL. Johnette worked as a waitress in the Girard and Auburn area for many years but her pride and joy through her adult life was watching her grandchildren. She was an amazing mother and grandmother. Johnette was known for her love of the outdoors where she enjoyed spending time fishing, mushroom hunting and simply taking in the beauty of Mother Nature. She had a witty, sarcastic sense of humor and didn't know a stranger. Johnette is survived by two sons, Josh (Bobby Jo) Gilmore of Auburn, IL, and Jason (Jessica) Gilmore of Virden, IL; 8 grandchildren, Johnathon and Sophia Gilmore, Korrigan Whitmore, Molly, Hayvyn, Klara, Kloey, and Gwenevere Gilmore, and a brother, Richard L. Jr. (Donna M.) Bender. of Auburn, IL. Johnette was preceded in death by her father, and son Johnathan Jacob Bender at birth. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2020, from 10:00 am to Noon at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard.
