Melba R. Decker, 88, of Carlinville, passed away Friday afternoon, August 7, 2020 at her residence in Carlinville. Melba was born on November 22, 1931 to William and Elvira (Caudle) Pratt, Sr. in Litchfield, IL. On January 8, 1980, Melba married Rollin R. "Deck" Decker in Ft. Worth, Texas. He preceded her in death on March 11, 1997. Melba was a Home Mother at Peaceful Valley Youth Ranch in Carlinville for many years. Later she was the assistant manager at WARECO service station in Carlinville. Melba enjoyed gardening, going to second-hand stores, and antiquing. She loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Melba is survived by her two sons, Richard M (Jannette) Stutsman of KS, and James A (Debbie) Stutsman of Rogers, AR; two daughters, Linda Joy (Jacob) Copple of Standard City, IL, and R. Kay (Michael) Moore of Plainview, IL; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Melba was preceded in death by her parents, William and Elvira Pratt, Sr.; husband, Rollin R. "Deck" Decker; brother, William H Pratt, Jr.; sister, Helen L Kellenberger. Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at 2:30 pm at the Brayford Cemetery in rural Carlinville, with Rev. Gary Farthing, officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Family.
