Obituary of Polly Ann Rainey

Polly Ann Rainey, 72 of Carlinville, passed away Wednesday afternoon, February 5, 2020, at her residence. Polly was born July 1, 1947, in Litchfield, IL, a daughter of Cedric "Dick" and Betty (Tuttle) McReynolds. Polly graduated from Carlinville High School with the class of 1965. She married Roger Rainey on May 16, 1964 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Carlinville, IL. Polly spent 30 years at DICKEY-john in Auburn and retired in 2009. In her spare time she loved to sew, enjoyed reading, work around the house, and genealogy. Polly was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Thomas J. McReynolds. Visitation will be held Saturday afternoon from 1:30 to 3:30pm February 8, 2020 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Carlinville, IL. Funeral Services will follow at 3:30 at the church. Burial will follow in Chapman Cemetery, Mt. Olive, IL. Polly is survived by her husband, Roger Rainey of Carlinville, IL, son, Daniel (Angie) Rainey of Plainview, IL, daughter, Melody (Scott) Brown of Spring Hill, TN, grandchildren; Danielle (Austin) Mize, Jaret and Cameron Rainey and Emily, Jordan and Lindsey Brown, sister, Lynn Stout of Hannibal, MO, brother, Richard D. McReynolds of Costa Rica, several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church.
