Obituary of Earl Skinner

Earl K. Skinner, 83 of Girard, formerly of Beardstown passed away Friday morning, January 24, 2020, at his residence in Girard, IL. Earl was born May 21, 1936, in McCook, NE, a son of Oscar Layton and Elsie Alice Dack Skinner. He married Ella Mae Sheets September 3, 1960 in Warsaw, MO and the later divorced but remained good friends. She passed away April 19, 2008. Earl later married Virginia (Woods) in 1981 in Beardstown, IL and she passed away December 14, 2018. Earl worked out of the International Union of Operators Engineers #965B in Springfield, IL. He enjoyed running heavy equipment and working as a mechanic. He drove a truck for over seven years. Earl loved animals especially his dogs. Earl was preceded in death by his parents ex-wife, Ella Mae, wife, Virginia Skinner, daughter, Alice Larton, and sisters, Julie Skinner and Eleanor Jackson. Visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon, January 26, 2020, 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Girard, IL. Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 am, Monday,January 27, 2020 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Girard. Burial will follow in Girard Cemetery, Girard. Earl is survived by his daughter, Keila (Roger) Jackson of Girard, IL, daughter, Lily (Bernie) Barker of Girard, IL, daughter, Brenda (George Smith) Lowe of Columbia, MO, son, Raymond (Julie Cherry) Skinner of Auburn, IL, son, Brian Skinner of Thayer, IL, 10 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren and brother, Bill Skinner of Sedalia, MO.
