Obituary of Bonnie Lee Hicks

Bonnie Lee Hicks, 85 of Carlinville, passed away Friday, March 1, 2019, at Heritage Health Care in Carlinville, IL. Bonnie was born August 7, 1933, in DuQuoin, IL, a daughter of Tony and Opal (Crow) Franklin. Bonnie attended school in Vergennes, Illinois and later married Glen E. Hicks on October 4, 1952. He preceded her in death on January 12, 2006. Bonnie and Glen owned and operated Hicks Grocery Store in Chesterfield for several years. She collected bric-a-brac and signs with cute sayings and quotes. She loved being surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, twin grandsons, Nicholas and Benjamin Hicks, sister, Betty Hartline, brother, Dale Franklin, niece, Jackie Griffin and great nephew, Ryan Foley. Visitation will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019 from 9:00 to 11:00 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville, IL. where funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am with Rev. Kevin Strope officiating. Burial will follow in Chesterfield Cemetery, Chesterfield. Bonnie is survived by her sons, Terry (Mary Ann) Hicks of Carlinville, IL, Mick (companion, Penny Emmons) Hicks of Carlinville, IL, Kenny (Laura) Hicks of Carlinville, IL, 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, sister, Doris Williams of Murphysboro, IL and several nieces and nephews.
