David B. "Rock" Johnson, 65, of Carlinville, passed away Friday morning, September 21, 2018 at Carlinville Area Hospital in Carlinville, IL.
Dave was born on February 18, 1953 to William A. and Norma (Killam) Johnson in Carlinville, IL. He graduated from Carlinville High School with the class of 1971 and attended Eastern Illinois University.
Dave was co-owner of BandJ Construction Company for over 25 years. He enjoyed spending time with friends, golfing, working and volunteered his time working at the VFW in Carlinville.
Dave married Sandy (Kates) Trump on November 19, 2017 in Carlinville.
Dave is survived by his wife, Sandy (Trump) Johnson of Carlinville, IL; father, William A. "Bill" (Alice) Johnson of Carlinville, IL; son, Michael David (Erin) Johnson of New Orleans, LA; daughter, Katie Jane (Michael) Genta of Quantico, VA; son, Nicolas Andrew E. (Caitlin) Johnson of Scottsdale, AZ; son, Joel Thomas (Sarah) Johnson of Carlinville, IL; son, Jordan Lee Johnson of East Alton, IL; 2 step daughters, Andrea (Brandon) Sonneborn of Hettick, IL, and Kelli Trump of Springfield, IL; 3 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; brother, Douglas (Brenda) Johnson of Hillsboro, IL; step sister, Marcy (Adam) Kroeger of Carlinville, IL, as well as several nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Johnson.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018, from 9:00 to 11:00 am at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville.
A Memorial Service will follow visitation at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Rex Hendrix officiating.
Burial will be held in Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery, Carlinville.
