Obituary of Zada Hunt

Elizabeth Zada Hunt 94 of Girard, passed away Monday morning, January 22, 2018, at Pleasant Hill Village in Girard, IL. Zada was born August 1, 1923, in New Berlin, IL, a daughter of Gilbert Emmit and Elsie Katherine (Herr) Smith. Zada graduated from New Berlin Township High School with the class of 1941 . She married Verner Glenn Hunt on January 3, 1942, in Palmyra, MO. Zada was a homemaker. She was a member of Pleasant Dale Baptist Church from 1942-2018 where she served as a Sunday School and Bible School teacher. Zada also served with the Women's Mission Union, Macoupin County Home Extension and a 4-H Leader. She enjoyed gardening, and was famous for her oatmeal and chocolate chip cookies.. Zada was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers James Smith and Marvin Smith. Visitation will be held, Wednesday, January 24, 2018, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Girard, IL. Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 am, Thursday,January 25, 2018 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Girard. Burial will follow in Girard Cemetery, Girard. Zada is survived by her son, Donald (Joyce) Hunt of Palmyra, IL, son, James (Su) Hunt of Chatham, IL, daughter, Becky (Bob) Robbins of Springfield, IL, daughter, Lisa (Tim) Guinan of Girard, IL, 8 grandchildren, several step grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, several step great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, brother, Lester D. (Betty) Smith of Springfield, IL and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Pleasant Dale Baptist Church or Macoupin County 4-H Extension.
