William E. "Bill" McAllister
1931 - 2017
Condolences
Bill was a good friend for many years. We shared a love for woodcarving and he was my mentor and instructor. He promoted woodcarving in Carlinville and kept our carving group active. He always helped members to improve their work. I will not forget his kindness.
dear Peg and kids...My thoughts are with you...Bill was such a good friend over the past 50+ years and was one of the great Farm Advisers...His help in getting the Orr Research Farm established in Western Illinois.... was extremely valuable....resulting in our farmers being put on the same footing as those in Eastern Illinois. 1st year we got many farmers to use the results of research there, they made over 20 Million extra dollars here in Pike County has him by Him...
Bill's smile, insatiable friendliness, twinkle in his eye, and expertise with carving tools are fond memories of many many years as a co-worker with the University of IL Extension, and after his retirement. He was a great mentor and will be missed. My thoughts are with the family.
Peg & all,
I am so sorry you have lost Bill. He was such a good soul, cared deeply about the church & was so supportive of the ministry there. Please know that I hold you in my prayers as you grieve.
In the peace of Christ,
Dave Nicholson
I knew Bill from the U of I Extension. I will always remember his kind smile and gentle words as he would drop by the office to check in on us. Such a great guy and so talented. He gave the 4-H program one of his amazing wood carvings a few years ago and we will cherish it always and think of him as we display it. Thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.
As a former co-worker with Bill in the Extension Service, I was a recipient of Bill's friendliness, humor, and agricultural knowledge for much of my career time in Illinois. It was a pleasure to be with him at meetings in the County and at the regional and state meetings as well. So my sympathies to the family for their loss.
Elaine and family,
May cherished memories of better times comfort you at this sad time.
In celebration of a fine gentleman and mentor to an entire generation of ag advisors. My condolences to the family.

Caring, warm and friendly, intelligent in his career, a very talented wood carver, an all round nice guy - that was Bill McAllister. We'll never forget his smile, nor his laughter. Our deepest sympathies to all of his family, and to his many, many friends. Praying for peace and comfort.
Peg and family,
We're saddened to hear of Bill's passing. What a sweet, sweet man he was! I got to know him when he was a Farm Advisor in Carlinville and I worked in the home extension office upstairs on North Broad.
May you find strength to move through the coming days, weeks and months.
Dear Steve and Alicia and family, So sorry for the loss of your Father and Father-in-law. It's one of life's saddest journeys to have to bury a parent. May God bless and keep you through these dark days. Your Masterworks friend, Osceola
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Bill's family. It was always a pleasure to visit with him at Rotary meetings and a challenge to keep up with him working on club projects. He was an awesome gentleman.
