Obituary of Lonnie D. Love

Lonnie D. Love, 64 of Litchfield, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017, at his residence in Litchfield, IL.

Lonnie was born January 25, 1953, in Carlinville, IL, a son of Donald and Eugenia (Ross) Love.

Lonnie graduated from Carlinville High School with the class of 1971. He joined the Marines before graduation and was a "door gunner" in Vietnam where he served until 1974.  After his discharge he attended Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, IL and graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice. On April 12, 1980 he married Linda (Arnold) in Girard, IL.

Lonnie had worked for the Virden and Palmyra Police Departments for several years. He later was employed by the City of Virden on the Street Department. He was one of the original staff to work for the Sangamac Ambulance Department in Virden. Lonnie enjoyed music, Video games and spending time with his grandchildren.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, from 4:00 to 7:00 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Girard, IL.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 am, Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Girard.

Military Rites will be performed by the Elmer E. Vance American Legion Post #386 in Virden, IL.

Lonnie is survived by his wife, Linda Love of Litchfield, IL, mother, Eugenia Taynor of Carlinville, IL, brother, Roger (Lisa) Love, Stafford, VA, daughter, Tabetha Barto of Kansas City, KS, daughter, Evon (Eric) Weller of Palmyra, IL, daughter, Laura (Randy) Mustread of Centralia, IL, son, Richard Love of Litchfield, IL, 14 grandchildren and two nieces.
