Lyndall Wade Heyen, 74, of Carlinville, passed away Saturday evening, March 11, 2017 at Heritage Health Care in Carlinville, IL.
Lyndall was born on July 5, 1942 to Jesse and Geneva (Wade) Heyen in Medora, IL. He graduated from Carlinville High School with the class of 1960, as well as the Illinois State Police Academy in 1968. Lyndall married Arlene Hacke on April 29, 1962 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Carlinville and they were married for 54 years.
Lyndall was a Master Sergeant with the Illinois State Police, retiring in 1995. He was also employed with the Secretary of State the 4 years prior to his service with the Illinois State Police. On his days off, he would work for Koster Construction Company in Carlinville. Lyndall was a long time member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Carlinville, Fraternal Order of Police, Ducks Unlimited, and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He served on the Carlinville City Council, and Carlinville School Board. Lyndall enjoyed spending time riding snowmobiles, 4-wheeling, hunting, fishing, and shooting.
Lyndall is survived by his wife, Arlene Heyen of Carlinville; daughter, Melissa (Patricia Gielow) Heyen of Mt. Olive, IL; son, Bradley (Erica Koegler) Heyen of St. Louis, MO; granddaughter, Annabella Heyen; step grandson, Phillip Gielow; 2 step great grandchildren, Brayden and Adalynn Gielow; brother, Dennis (Dixie) Heyen of Tacoma, WA, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Lyndall was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters, Betty Lyles, Shirley Munns, and Carol Dams, and a brother, Larry Heyen.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the fellowship hall of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Carlinville, IL.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 10:00 am at the church with Rev. Kevin Strope officiating.
Burial will follow in Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery, Carlinville.
