Obituary of Ronnie Bormida

Ronnie Ray Bormida, Sr ,68, of Standard City, passed away Saturday afternoon, January 28, 2017 at his residence in Standard City, IL. Ronnie was born on November 7, 1948 to Joseph and Esther (Eyer) Bormida in Springfield, IL. He graduated from Springfield High School, class of 1968. Ronnie was a self employed carpenter and also worked for Local 16. He sold for Capital Machinery and owned and operated Bormida Kitchen in Springfield as a caterer, retiring in 1996. Ronnie loved playing the guitar and cooking. Ronnie is survived by his son, Ronnie Bormida, Jr. of Springfield, IL; daughter, Christina Marie Bormida of Springfield, IL; granddaughters, Abigail Bormida and Hannah Morgan; brother, Gary Bormida of Standard City, IL; sister, Shirley Bormida of Standard City, IL; several nieces and nephews. Ronnie was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Esther Bormida, sister, Beth Jordan, and brother, Joe Bormida, Jr. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2017, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard, IL. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at 10:00 am at the funeral home, with Deacon Denny Baker, officiating. Burial will take place in the Virden Cemetery.
