Obituary of Marjorie J. Coble

Marjorie J. Coble, age 96 of Girard, Illinois passed away Tuesday evening, December 27, 2016, at Heritage Health Therapy Center & Senior Care in Carlinville, IL. Marjorie was born June 13, 1920, in Bedford, IN, a daughter of Clyde and Laura (McGuire) Mason. Marjorie studied to become a minister at Anderson College in Anderson, IN. She married Clarence E. Coble June 29, 1950 at the Church of God parsonage in Springfield, IL. He passed away August 25, 1996. Marjorie and her husband owned and operated Coble Variety Shoppe and Coble Clothing in Girard for several years. She later worked for the City of Girard as the City Treasurer and retired from the State of Illinois, Secretary of State Division. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 2, 2017, from 10:00 until the time of service. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Monday, January 2, 2017 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, 226 North 3rd Street, Girard, Illinois. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Girard Cemetery Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Nancy Coble of Springfield, IL, niece, Sharon (Gene) Martin of Gardendale, AL, several cousins. Memorials may be made to Girard Fire & Rescue Squad. Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, 226 North 3rd Street in Girard, IL is in charge of arrangements.
