Obituary of Marjorie Jean Bouldin

Marjorie "Marge" Jean Bouldin, age 83, of Girard, IL, passed away Monday evening, December 26, 2016, at Vibra Hospital in Springfield, IL. Marge was born December 24, 1933, in Joliet, IL, a daughter of Frederick A. and Lillian H. (Johnson) Darrohn. Marge graduated from Blackburn College in Carlinville in 1958 and attended grad school at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. She married Robert J. Bouldin in Carlinville on February 15, 1958. Marge retired in 1994 after 38 years of teaching first grade in the Girard School system. During the summer, Marge and Bob worked at Beaver Dam State Park as the hosts for twelve years, welcoming campers and visitors to the park. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Virden, IL, Past President of the Volks Walk Club, past City of Girard Alderperson, over seeing the new sewer plant construction and headed the Police Commission. Marge also served on the Alumni Board at Blackburn College. Marge loved to further her knowledge by reading. Marge was preceded in death by her parents and siblings. Memorial Services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Monday, January 9, 2017 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard, IL with Mim Pride officiating. Private burial will take place at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, IL. Marjorie is survived by her husband, Robert J. Bouldin of Girard, IL, sons, Robert Jeffrey (Lynette) Bouldin of Simpsonville, SC, Andrew Scott Bouldin of Los Angeles, CA, Paul Frederick (Paula) Bouldin of Girard, IL, five grandsons, two step-granddaughters and four great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Donor's Choice. Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Girard is in charge of arrangements.
