Norma Eileen Klaus, 92, of Carlinville passed away Tuesday morning, June 14, 2016 at Heritage Health in Carlinville.
Norma was born in Carlinville, IL one of seven children, to Frank and Nola Maude Graham.
Norma was a graduate of Carlinville High School, class of 1942. After graduation, she worked in Chicago at the Merchandise Mart. Upon returning to Carlinville, she married Roy A. Klaus in a triple wedding ceremony with Roy’s sisters on November 3, 1946, in Carlinville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roy on October 19, 2014, brother, Lyndal Graham and sister Wilma Roberson.
Norma was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker. She treasured her time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her feisty and independent nature. She was member of Rural Methodist Church.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 16, 2016 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville.
Funeral service will be held Friday, June 17, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Rural United Methodist Church with Rev. John Curtis officiating.
Burial will be in the Bethel Ridge Cemetery.
Surviving are her daughter, Janie (Mike) Lackman, Carlinville and son, Ron (Bobbie) Klaus both of Carlinville; four granddaughters, Rhonda Schaefer, Misty (Steve) Greim, Lori (Schaefer) Hughes (Clifford), and Kristy (Klaus) Duckels (Robert). Eleven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Erma Carrigan, Gillespie; Velma Fellin, Decatur; Marvin Graham, Mt. Zion; Nadine (Kenny) Brockmiller, O’Fallon, MO; several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Bethel Ridge Cemetery, rural Atwater.
