Nathan Alan Wiles, 27, of Carlinville passed away Saturday morning, January 23, 2016 at Saint Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Nathan was born on August 8, 1988 to Gregory and Debra (Austwick) Wiles in Litchfield, IL. He graduated from Carlinville High School with the class of 2007. As a young man Nathan participated in football, competitive soccer, and track. After high school, he attended Lewis and Clark Community College and later moved to South Carolina where he graduated from the Golf Academy of America in 2014 with a degree in Golf Course Operations and Management.
Nathan was a member of the United States Golf Association, The Macoupin Club in Carlinville and the Carlinville United Methodist Church. He loved golfing, skiing, and supporting his Chicago Bears. Beyond his love for sports, Nathan enjoyed traveling with his family and tinkering with projects at home and at Lake Rinaker. He was a volunteer official at many charity and national golf outings in Myrtle Beach, including Wounded Warrior, the National Father/Son Tournament, National Junior Championship and the Monday After the Masters Pro/Am. Most of all, Nathan loved spending time with his family and friends.
Nathan is survived by his parents, Greg and Deb Wiles of Carlinville, IL; brother, Brett G. Wiles of Taylorville, IL; grandmother, Frances "Tim" Wiles of Carlinville, IL and a host of loving distant relatives.
Nathan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nolan and Marcella Austwick and Earl J. Wiles.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Carlinville United Methodist Church, Carlinville, IL.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 10:30 am at the church with Rev. Rex Hendrix officiating.
Burial will be at Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to the CAV PAC, Shriner's Hospital For Children or The Macoupin Club Shelter Fund.
