Obituary of William Joiner

William Robert "Bob" Joiner, 74, of Chesterfield, IL, passed away Monday morning, November 30, 2015 at his residence in Chesterfield, IL. Bob was born on July 3, 1941 to Ralph William and Mary Rita (Stouffe) Joiner in Carlinville, IL. He married Sharon Gross on December 3, 1960 and they later divorced. Bob then married Nancy Kay (Nash) Davidson on July 5, 1980 and they recently celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary. Bob was a life long grain and livestock farmer in Macoupin County. He raised Hereford Bulls from 1983 to 1990 and was also the owner/operator of Bob's Welding and Repair in Chesterfield. Bob retired in 2015 due to health reasons. He was an animal enthusiast, avid gardener and loved spending time outdoors and with his family. Bob is survived by his wife, Nancy K. Joiner of Chesterfield, IL; mother, Mary Joiner of Palmyra, IL; daughter, Sheryl Robin (Billy) Mayer of Carlinville, IL; five sons, Timothy Robert Joiner of Godfrey, IL, James Edward (Denise) Joiner of Carlinville, IL, Christopher William Joiner of Chesterfield, IL, Todd Alan Davidson of Bon Aqua, TN and Thomas Andrew (Teresa) Davidson of Waterloo, IL; 14 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brother, Jimmy Dale (Esther) Joiner of Scottville, IL two sisters, Rita Marie (Leland) Price of Waverley, IL and Linda May Joiner of Palmyra, IL, as well as several nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Joiner and two infant sisters, Viola Marie and Barbara Ann Joiner. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville, IL Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Jim Allen officiating. Burial will take place in Witt Cemetery, Rockbridge, IL. A luncheon will be held at the Chesterfield Community Club following the graveside service.
