Obituary of Luella I. Sarginson

Luella I. Sarginson, 88, of Chesterfield, passed away Saturday morning, October 31, 2015 at Friendship Home in Carlinville, IL. Luella was born on November 9, 1926 to William and Ada (Gross) Bennett at Medora, IL. On January 29, 1947 she married Marvin "Shorty" Sarginson in southern Illinois. Luella graduated from Medora High School with the class of 1944. Luella was a hairdresser, having her shop in her home. She was a hard worker and worked beside her husband, Marvin on the family farm in Chesterfield. She loved gardening, baking, and playing the piano. She most enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved when all her family got together. She was a member of Rockbridge United Methodist church and held a strong faith in her God. Luella is survived by; two sons, Don (Katherine) Sarginson of Chesterfield, IL and David (Lenda) Sarginson of Chesterfield, IL; grandson, Don D. (Missy) Sarginson of Plant City, FL; two granddaughters, Buffy (Mark) Morfey of Edwardsville, IL and Becky (Ronnie) Paul of Chesterfield, IL; great-grandchildren, Ian, Sarah, Boston and Genivieve Sarginson, Bryce, Addi, Justin and Eli Paul, and Mason Morfey; twin sister, Lavella Lowis of Medora, IL; brother, Eugene (Sharon) Bennett of Godfrey, IL; several nieces and nephews. Luella was preceded in death by husband, Marvin "Shorty" Sarginson; parents, William and Ada Bennett; sisters, Myrtle L. Bennett, Velma Ruyle and Esther Lorton; brothers, Raymond, Elry, Milford and Melvin Bennett. Visitation will be held Monday, November 2, 2015, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 10:00 am at the Carlinville United Methodist Church, Carlinville, IL, with Rev. Rex Hendrix, officiating.
