Obituary of Stephen P. Washicko

Stephen Paul "Steve" Washicko, 87, of Carlinville, formerly of Virden, Illinois, died Monday, August 3, 2009 at Carlinville Area Hospital. He was born Friday, December 30, 1921 in Virden, Illinois, the Son of the late George Washicko and the late Mary (Roman) Washicko. He married Edith M.(McKinney) Washicko in Virden, Illinois. She preceded him in death on September 1, 2002. Washicko was a 1938 grad of Virden High School. He was terrazzo and tile setter for the Grimmett Tile Company in Springfield for many years. He was a 60 year member of the Virden American Legion Post 386. He loved to fish and play the stock market. Survivors: Sister, Ann Bartin of Shelton, CT, Sister, Agnes Washicko of Girard, IL, Several Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, George and John Washicko, and two sisters Marie Madden and Margaret Coakley. Funeral Information Visitation: 9:00 to 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 8 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard. Services: 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 8, at the funeral home. Rev. Ray Long will officate the service. Burial: Virden Cemetery in Virden. Donations Information Memorials may be made to the Carlinville Area Hospital Building Fund.
