February 06, 2010 Charles and Genevieve Walton Charles William Walton, 98, of Kerrville, Texas passed away December 30, 2006 at Parson's House Care Center in Kerrville. Charles the son of William and Leonie (Stadler) Walton was born April 3, 1908 in Carlinville, Illinois. He married Genevieve M. Zeeb on October 21, 1933 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He attended and graduated from Blackburn College in Carlinville, Illinois. He then attended the University of Illinois from which he graduated and then attended the University of Michigan where he received a Doctorate in Chemistry. Charles worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in Akron, Ohio as a chemist and helped develop synthetic rubber. In 1947 he went to work for 3M Company in St. Paul, Minnesota as head of their "New Products Division", and later became Vice President of Corporate Research and Development. In 1962, he was named to the Board of Directors of the 3M Company. Charles attended the First Presbyterian Church in Dillon, Montana and the First Christian Church in Kerrville, Texas. He enjoyed attending church; it was a very important part of his life. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially fly fishing, he held the world record for a Permit fish caught on a fly and has the fish mounted in his home. He spent a lot of his time pursing his hobbies in the United States and foreign countries. Genevieve Marion Walton, passed away February 6, 2010 at her home in Unionville, Missouri. She was born near Ann Arbor, Michigan in Scio Township on December 8, 1909 to Edward Benjamin Zeeb and Lorena May (Campbell) Zeeb. Genevieve married Charles William Walton on October 21, 1933 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She attended local schools and graduated from the University of Michigan in 1933. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Chuck and Genevieve were married for 73 years and had a very close and special marriage. She celebrated her 100th birthday last December 8th with a three day celebration with family and friends coming to wish her a happy birthday. She enjoyed it very much. After her husband passed away in 2006 she moved to Missouri to be near her daughter and son-in-law and their families. Charles and Genevieve are survived by their children: Barbara (William) J. Bruce of Lucerne, Missouri, Alan (Nancy) H. Walton of Saginaw, Michigan, Douglas (Diana) C. Walton of Hailey, Idaho. Grandchildren: William (Cindy) Bruce Jr. of Lucerne, Missouri, Jeanne (Brooks) Jarrett of Hallsville, Missouri, Robert (Kelly) Bruce of Lucerne, Missouri, Melissa Walton of Saginaw, Michigan and Pamela (Robert) Moorehead of Grosse Point Park, Michigan. Twelve great-grand children and seven great-great-grandchildren; one niece, Serena (David) Kolb of Freeport, Maine and one nephew James (Marcia) Zeeb of Evergreen, Colorado. Genevieve is survived by one brother, Larry Zeeb of Lakewood, Colorado. Funeral Information A memorial service and inurnment will be held for Charles and Genevieve on May 15, 2010 at the Rural Methodist Church at 1:00 P.M. in Carlinville, Illinois.
