Joyce M. Talley
81, of Carlinville, died Monday, December 21, 2009 at Carlinville Rehab Center.
She was born Saturday, September 29, 1928 in E. St. Louis, IL, the Daughter of the late Herbert Henry and Pearl Mae (Curry) Talley.
Joyce was a Graphic Artist for Pet Milk in St. Louis, Mo for 20 years. She was one of the first female employees to climb the corporate ladder at Pet Milk. Joyce taught Commercial Art at South Tech High School in St. Louis and Lewis & Clark Comm College in Godfrey. The last 25 years of her career, she served as the Creative Director for Henrichs Publications in Litchfield. She was responsible for Sunshine Magazine; Good Reading Magazine and Illinois Magazine. Additionally, she was the Creative Director for the Macoupin County Sesquicentennial.
She was an accomplished genealogist and loved tracing her families roots.
Joyce was a member of Unity School of Christianity in Unity Village, MO. She graduated from Shipman High School, class of 1947 and Washington University in St. Louis.
Survivors: Brother, John Talley (Toni) of Lake City, FL, Several Nieces and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by Sisters, Judy Wheeler and Loretta Marko. Funeral Information
Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 29 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville, IL.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home.
She will be laid to rest near her parents in Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery, Carlinville. Donations Information
