Obituary of Edith M. Suhling

Edith M. Suhling 92, of Carlinville, died Monday, November 16, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield. She was born Tuesday, May 15, 1917 in Carlinville, IL, the Daughter of the late William and Clara ( Miller) Hammann. She married Charles D. Suhling in Carlinville, IL on December 19, 1943. He passed away June 10, 2003. Edith was a farmwife and homemaker. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ as well as the Spanish Needle Card and Birthday Clubs. At church she was a member of the Womens Guild, taught Sunday School and past choir member. She loved to sew, crouchet, and tend to her flower gardens. Survivors: Daughter, Karen Jean Hildebrand (David) of Gillespie, IL, Daughter, Clara Marlene Eichen (Donald) and Sandra Marie Johnson (James Jr.) both of Carlinville. 8 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Granddaughter, Several Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 Brothers. Funeral Information Visitation: 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, November 19 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville, IL. Services: 10:00A.M., Friday, November 20, 2009 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Carlinville with Rev Kevin Strope officiating. Edith will be buried in Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery.
