Della Marie Starks 69, of Nilwood, died Friday, September 25, 2009 at her residence. She was born Saturday, August 17, 1940 in Virden, IL, the Daughter of the late Leonard and Cleora (Leach) Allen. She married Phillip L. Starks at the Church of the Brethren in Virden, on October 9, 1959. Della was the secretary to John Brown who was the Supervisor of Nilwood Twsp for several years. She later worked for the First Midwest Bank in Virden. In 1998 she owned and operated Mid State Staffing in Farmersville unitl 2001. She was a member of Nilwood Baptist Church.
