Dorathy Smirl 95, of Oak Park, formerly of Carlinville , died Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at her residence in Oak Rark, IL Dorathy was born November 25, 1913 in Carlinville, IL, she was one of three daughter and two sons born to the marriage of John Thomas and Emma (Lewis) Hall. Dorathy worked 23 years at Carlinville Area Hospital in the Dietary Department. She was a member of the Rural Methodist Church. Dorothy loved to quilt and had won several Blue Ribbons at the Macoupin County Fair for her handy work. Dorothy was an avid reader of the Upper Room and the town news paper. Survivors: Son, Dale Smirl (Barbara) of Oak Park, IL, Grandson, Lewis Smirl. She was preceded in death by, parents, two brothers and two sisters. Funeral Information Family and Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday, August 14 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville, IL. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M., Saturday, August 15, 2009 at Rural Methodist Church in rural Carlinville. Rev. John Curtis will officiate and Norma Boston and Jon Daggett providing music. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery. Donations Information Memorials may be made to the Rural Methodist Church.
